How We Manage Our Babies

Our kids are dam raised unless a situation arises that requires them to be on a bottle. Such a situation could be a premature birth, a doe rejecting her baby, or a doe giving birth to more babies than she the ability to produce milk for.
It is a common belief that bottle babies are friendlier than dam raised kids.
This has not been our experience in our herd.
We spend a lot of time interacting with our babies, right from the beginning. This helps them to become comfortable and well socialized with people.
Dam raised kids can go to their new homes when they weigh around 20 pounds, but no earlier than two months of age. However, each baby is an individual and develops at their own pace, so we are flexible about when a baby is ready to leave.
We strive for each baby to be healthy and strong and have the best opportunity to thrive when they go to their new home!
